“You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore.”
Psalm 16:11
Reflection:
Following Jesus isn’t meant to feel like a chore or a checklist. He is meant to be enjoyed. Yet so often, we reduce faith to duty, reading the Bible because we “should,” praying because we “need to,” worshiping because it’s “what Christians do.”
But Jesus invites us into something far deeper: relationship. He doesn’t just want your obedience; He wants your heart. True joy flows not from religion, but from being with Him.
Think about it like time on the course. You can grind through a round focused only on score, frustrated at every miss, or you can step back, breath and remember why you love the game in the first place. The same applies to faith. When we slow down to enjoy Jesus, His grace, His peace, His presence, that’s when our souls come alive.
Surround yourself with moments that:
-
Help you rest in His presence, not rush past it.
-
Remind you of His goodness, not your shortcomings.
-
Gratitude and wonder instead of pressure and performance.
Why it matters:
Faith isn’t about trying harder; it’s about drawing near. When you enjoy Jesus, you stop striving for joy and start living from it.
