“The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.”
Psalm 23

Reflection:
Psalm 23 doesn’t begin with instructions, it begins with assurance. The Lord is my shepherd. Not my manager. Not my scorekeeper. Not my critic. A shepherd leads, protects, and stays close

We feel anxious when we think it’s all on us: to provide, to perform, to figure it out. David reminds us that peace isn’t found in having control, it’s found in being led.

Even when the path dips into valleys, the Shepherd doesn’t change. The presence of God doesn’t disappear in hard seasons; it becomes more personal. Guidance replaces fear. Provision replaces striving. Rest replaces burnout.

Why it matters:
When the Lord is your shepherd, you don’t have to chase peace, approval, or security. You’re already cared for. Already seen. Already led.

Prayer for the week:
Lord, Shepherd of my soul, help me trust Your leading today. Quiet my fears, restore my heart, and teach me to rest in Your care. Amen.
