“Then He said to them all, ‘If anyone would come after Me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow Me.’”
Luke 9:23
Reflection:
Giving your life to Christ isn’t adding Jesus to an already full schedule, it’s surrendering the whole thing. It’s moving from “my plans with God’s help” to “God’s will with my obedience.” Salvation is free, but Jesus never asked for part time belief. He wants full hearted following.
We like control. We like backups. We like keeping options open. But the gospel calls us to something deeper: trust that His way leads to life, even when it costs comfort. When you give your life to Christ, you don’t lose yourself. you finally find who you were created to be.
Try this today:
• Lay it down: name what you’re still holding back.
• Say yes again: surrender isn’t once; it’s daily.
• Follow, don’t negotiate: obedience before understanding.
• Walk it out: faith grows through steps, not intentions.
A surrendered life is a powerful life. When Christ is Lord, peace replaces pressure, purpose replaces striving, and eternity reframes every decision.
Prayer for the week:
Jesus, I give You my life, my plans, my future, my control. Teach me to follow You daily with faith and courage. Amen.
