Moment for Monday 2/9/26

Moment for Monday 2/9/26

The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Proverbs 1:7

Reflection:

Proverbs 1:7 sets the foundation for every wise life: respect before results. The “fear of the Lord” isn’t being afraid of God, it’s respecting Him as holy, trusting His authority, and placing His truth above our own opinions. Wisdom doesn’t start with intelligence, experience, or success. It starts with humility.

We live in a world that values confidence without counsel and opinions without accountability. When we submit our thoughts, plans, and decisions to God, we position ourselves to be led.

Pause before reacting - ask, “Does this respect the Lord?”

Seek instruction - wisdom often comes through correction.

Submit your plans - invite God into your decisions, big and small.

Choose humility - being teachable is strength, not weakness.

Walk in respect - let respect for God guide your choices.

Why it matters:

A life rooted in respect for God produces clarity, stability, and direction. When God is first, wisdom follows and so does peace.

Prayer for the week:

Lord, teach me to respect You rightly. Give me a humble heart, a listening spirit, and the wisdom that comes from walking closely with You.
